Public visit Bentley Crematorium and Cemetery

Bentley Crematorium in Brentwood opened its doors to the public on Saturday 22 August, giving local people the chance to have guided tours of the crematorium and its grounds.

Michelle Hales, the manager of Bentley Crematorium, said: “Our cemetery has recently opened for burials and we felt that this was a great opportunity to let the public see the fantastic facilities we have here at Bentley.”

At 1.00pm, an official Opening Ceremony was held by Reverend Mark James and a dedication stone was unveiled at the entrance of the cemetery.

“It was a beautiful, hot day but this didn’t stop the visitors coming – we had around 60 people throughout the day and each were given a personalised guided tour of the buildings and Gardens of Remembrance,” added Kate Davidson, regional manager. “The staff worked incredibly hard on the weeks leading up to the day to get the grounds looking stunning and many of the visitors commented on how well the site had developed since it opened.”
