East Lancashire Crematorium was dedicated in June 2007 by the Bishop of Bolton when it became the 250th crematorium to be opened in the UK. The crematorium is situated in open and peaceful grounds overlooking Bury and beyond to the Pennines and the PeelMemorial, and serves communities across Lancashire and the north of Manchester.
Our highly trained staff are available at all times to advise bereaved families about our facilities and memorials and are on hand to discuss any individual queries or requests.
We also work closely with funeral directors to ensure that the wishes of families are met in the most dignified manner.
We can cater for many different types of services both religious and non-religious. If you would like music as part of the service, we have a traditional organ or clients can choose the Wesley system which gives access to thousands of modern and classical pieces of music.
The crematorium has disabled access and disabled toilets.
Services last 45 minutes, which allows families time to gather and leave without the pressure of other funerals waiting for access. Longer services and private memorial services can also be arranged upon request.
The crematorium is open for inspection at any time by members of the public and holds two services of remembrance a year and an annual Open Day when our staff are happy to answer any questions visitors have about the crematorium.
Our opening hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Our gardens are open 9.00am - 5.00pm all year round.
There are 87 parking spaces available (4 disabled). If using a SatNav for directions to East Lancashire Crematorium please enter the following postcode: M26 4FR.
