Charnock Richard crematorium was dedicated in September 2007 by the Bishop of Blackburn and serves communities across Lancashire.
Situated in open and peaceful countryside, Charnock Richard is a quiet and modern crematorium with highly trained staff who are available at all times to advise bereaved families about our facilities and memorials and to discuss any individual queries or requests.
We can cater for many different types of services both religious and non-religious. If you would like music as part of the service we have the Wesley Music System and space for a live organ. There is also a hearing loop and a public address system.
We also have a larger cremator than most other crematoria, which means we can accommodate largecoffins that would previously have had to be buried.
Services last 45 minutes, which allows families time to gather and leave without the pressure of other funerals waiting for access. Longer services and private memorial services can also be arranged upon request.
The crematorium is open for inspection at any time by members of the public and holds two services of remembrance a year and an annual Open Day when our staff are happy to answer any questions visitors have about the crematorium.
Our opening hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Our gardens are open 9.00am - 5.00pm (dusk in winter) each day.
