Over the past ten years more and more families have been using community mausoleums to create lasting memorials for loved ones.

History of mausoleums

Mausoleums, or above-ground burial vaults, date back to the 4th century BC when the first-ever mausoleum was built in honour of King Mausolous of Caria, whose name was then given to all monumental tombs.

Loughborough Mausoleum

Today, demand for community mausoleums in the UK is on the rise. Our community mausoleum in Loughborough is only the second to be built in the UK in the past 100 years and provides families with greater choice to create a memorial that reflects their wishes.

The mausoleum features a soft cream marble interior and a glass ceiling and is flooded with a gentle, natural light, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The front cover of each crypt is carefully crafted in soft white marble and can include a personal inscription and feature a range of loving tributes, including a framed photograph, statues, vases, crosses and angels. In addition each crypt has its own electricity supply for an eternal flame.
