Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.
If you choose to arrange the funeral with us, you will be given the option of a complimentary Funeral Notice. We will set it up for you using the details discussed during the arrangements. All we need is an email address.
Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.
Reviews of our services
Thank you very much for the excellent service.
Louise, Juliet and John
The relationship between R Davies & Son of the one part and Dignity Funerals of the other is somewhat apocryphal. I am left in hindsight to presume that in fact R Davies and Son are no more and Dignity are the outright owners of the business but that was never entirely clear. I presume there is merit seen for goodwill purposes in keeping the name R Davies & Son going in some form.
The year and more of pandemic has brought about new ways of operating across the whole of society and many new discoveries will be with us in a permanent and positive way - like remote working and video conferencing, hard work that they may be. Obitus were able, up to a point, make full use of the internet to take our service not just to those outside of the permitted 30 but nationally and internationally to friends who wanted to witness proceedings. This is something that could have been arranged only with a lot of difficulty prior to the pandemic, but will now be here to stay. Great. What will be increasingly important that those working in the sector and in public facing roles will need to embrace those possibilities increasingly - become more techy in simple language. There will need to be some training in technical matters perhaps to keep abreast of changes in society!
R Davies & Son have been associated with our family for funeral needs for all of my lifetime and have never failed to impress and take care of our needs - no less on this occasion. Well dome.

Under the circumstances of the pandemic and not being the funeral we would of planned, we could not of been happier of how it all went, and that was due to the care and understanding of the wonderful staff, and I would highly recommend R Davies & sons as your Funeral Directors.
who was with me on the day and to Rachel (sorry, think it was Rachel) who helped my daughter and I when we came in to make all the arrangements. It was explained very clearly without any pressure.
When making the funeral arrangements everything was carefully explained. They arranged the notice in the local press and also the printing of the Order of Service. We were especially pleased with the way in which the photograph of our deceased relative was presented on the cover.
On the day everything went very smoothly and we were grateful not to have to worry about dealing with the collection for the Hospice after the service.
None of the family live within 120 miles of Bristol. This could have proved difficult but the excellent communication we enjoyed ensured this never caused any problems.
We can unreservedly recommend R Davies and Son.
Everything was explained to me clearly and concisely in a time of high emotions from the moment I made the initial call to advise that my brother had passed away.
Nothing was too much trouble, a telephone call, an email all responded too professionally and promptly.
I felt that my brother was safe, after caring for him for the last 18years this was quite a challenge for me but I was reassured with words such as “we will take great care of him”.
I can’t thank the team enough for their support in preparing for his funeral, for my time with him and for being so caring.
I extend my gratitude to Jacuie and Shaun.
The funeral plan was purchased in 2005 and I was not disappointed with the plan and had no extra monies too pay.
If I was worried about something or had a question I would phone or ‘ pop’ in and without exception someone would see me and help in a sympathetic manner. This was so important at such an emotional time .
The privacy of the Chapel of Rest was lovely and peaceful , being able to see mum like this was extremely helpful , the staff being calm and comforting.
I would highly recommend R Davies and Son , on the funeral day they guided myself and the family through the day without any problems , the staff were respectful , reliable and efficient , they made an emotional day stress free and for this we will be forever thankful .
The office is similarly restful, warm and pleasant surroundings.
