About our Eltham funeral home
Being trusted with your loved one's funeral arrangements is an important and special duty that we do not take lightly. We will take care of everything for you, looking after every detail with heartfelt kindness and the best quality of care.
We can arrange any kind of funeral, no matter how simple or elaborate. From a traditional, religious service to a colourful woodland burial, whatever you think is right for your loved one, we will be able to help you. After all, it will be a personal event that can be a sentimental tribute to your loved one's life.
Our Eltham funeral directors opened in 1905, and is the home of two quiet and comfortable chapels of rest. For peace, solitude and reflection, we welcome you to use these for spending time with your loved one before the day of the funeral.
Our founder, John Chappell, began trading as a cabinet marker in Deptford, 1840. Since then, four generations of the Chappell family have helped our funeral directors grow and flourish to be a trusted and renowned part of South East London.
We have old ledgers in our Eltham funeral home which you are welcome to see. They date back all the way to 1924, when the cost of a funeral was £14. Our branch has expanded over the years, once a single premises with a jeweller and solicitors on either side. We merged our building with the jewellers, so we have a lot more space for the comfort and convenience of families.
We are here for you, every step of the way. Please call us today on 020 8850 1039 at any hour.
