As every funeral is completely unique and personal to the families we serve, the final cost will depend on the details you choose.
Funeral costs are usually broken down into Funeral Director fees, third party costs and optional extras that you can choose to personalise the funeral. This table shows an estimated total funeral cost, not including any optional extras that you may wish to add. This is designed to give you an illustrative price and is not intended as a quote. While we take great pride in giving you the most professional and caring service, we also want you to be comfortable with the costs and understand how our fees work.

We will provide support and guidance, and co-ordinate everything for you. We’ll manage everything for you, liaise with third parties and arrange all the personal details to ensure the funeral is perfect.

We will continue to be available for any aftercare, including collection of ashes, further advice or additional services as required.
We will bring the person who has died into our care during normal office hours using our own fully trained and regulated people and only specialist vehicles and equipment. There is an additional fee for bringing the person who has died into our care outside of normal office hours.
Our funeral professionals will care for your loved one in our premium facilities, and will be treated with the utmost care, respect and dignity throughout.
You are welcome to visit the person who has died at our funeral home by appointment during office hours. Reception into an alternative location is also available for an additional fee.
We will ensure every available care is taken to delay the natural processes that occur after death. However, as members of the National Association of Funeral Directors we recommend the peace of mind that embalming brings. You will be advised on this and we will require your consent.
One of our own experienced Funeral Directors will personally oversee your chosen arrangements and will guide and support you every step of the way.
Your Funeral Director will prepare in advance all locations for the service and committal and ensure your instructions arranged through ourselves on your behalf are followed on the day.
They will ensure sufficient pallbearers are available and instructed to escort the coffin with dignity and respect.
On the day of the funeral they will be present at your side throughout to supervise the occasion and direct all in attendance accordingly.
As a Dignity Funeral Director, we have access to a wide range of the highest quality hearses.
Our Tailored Funeral service includes the transportation of your loved one in our traditional chauffeur-driven motor hearse. You may choose from a range of alternative options to suit your wishes for an additional fee.
Should you require a personalised alternative to tradition, we can make these arrangements for you as well. We can also provide as many of our chauffeur driven limousines as required to convey the family and main mourners with dignity, in safety and on time.
We will also discuss specific requirements regarding the processional route for the cortege with you. This may be comprised of a journey that includes treasured memories or personal landmarks.
Our Tailored Funeral includes a choice of either a dark wood coffin or a light wood coffin. We offer a wide range of coffins and caskets which include colourful and picture coffins, willow and bamboo or cardboard. All of our coffins are lined and finished by hand with a selection of interiors.
A selection of our coffins is provided below. We will help guide you through your choices at the time of arranging the funeral. We also supply a selection of urns for ashes.
Satin finish, enhanced by silver effect Fleur-de-Lys style handles and cross design screws. Interior fitted with a white taffeta ruched frill with lace edges and pleated at the top. Also available in teak effect with brass effect handles.
Classic oak veneer gloss finished coffin with matching mouldings. The superior brass effect furnishings include hinged bar handles and grooved screw covers. The white satin interior suite features a quilted lid lining, mattress and pillow, lace edging and 14” ruched two-way frill.
For the supply of a woodgrain effect cardboard coffin, this provides an alternative to a traditional wooden coffin and is suitable for burial and cremation.
A superior mahogany veneer coffin with raised lid and matching mouldings, finished in a high gloss polish. The white satin interior suite has a two-way ruched puff ruffle frill with lace edging, quilted lid lining, mattress and pillow. Polished silver effect and dark wood furnishings.
Dignity Picture Coffin
An alternative coffin, the colourful collection offers a choice of designs with a more personal touch. The designs are printed directly onto the wood for a high quality finish.
Hand-woven from natural willow by skilled weavers using traditional skills. The lid has plaited edge detail, securely fastened by toggles, features natural rope and sea grass handles. This coffin has natural, unbleached calico linings and all fastenings are of natural materials making it 100% biodegradable.
Made from solid oak with a gloss finish, this coffin has six antiqued bronze effect handles and a tufted superior satin interior suite with lace edging. Unsuitable for cremation at some crematoriums.
A hand finished, mature grained solid hardwood coffin in Oak finish with triple step raised lid and distinctive panelled sides. The superior brass coloured cast metal fittings feature angel wing screws and drop bar handles. The luxurious white satin interior suite has a laced edge lid piece, padded mattress, quilt and pillow.
A coffin made in fine solid oak with a hand polished finish, this coffin has antiqued brass finish handles and a tufted superior satin interior suite, with lace edging.

Third party costs, sometimes called disbursements, are additional charges which we will manage for you and are included within your single invoice. These payments can vary widely depending on where you live and whether you choose a cremation or burial service for your loved one.

Example essential third-party costs
For some people, having enough time to have a private and uninterrupted service to remember a loved one is the most important factor in a funeral service. Ensuring you have enough time at the crematorium to do this is important, including the time taken for the congregation to enter and leave. You may already have a preference on the crematorium that you wish to use. If not, below we have selected the three closest crematoria.

Before the deceased is cremated, two certificates need to be signed by two separate doctors to confirm the cause of death. Each certificate has an individual cost of £164.
In some circumstances, these certificates are not required; for instance if the death has been reviewed by the coroner.
As part of our service, we will handle this paperwork on your behalf, and will guide you to ensure that the required documentation is completed.
A funeral celebrant will usually lead the funeral service, addressing the congregation, and can provide a eulogy, should you wish.
The costs for a minister or celebrant can vary, so £198, the cost of a Church of England minister, is provided for guidance. You may already have a preferred celebrant or minister that you would like to choose. If not, we will provide guidance to help you choose.
