It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Richard, aged 82, at the Orchard House Care Home in Newport on 1st September 2025.
Beloved husband of Christine for over 60 years, he was a devoted family man and former Crime Scene Investigator and Photographer of 30 years’ experience with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
He leaves a close-knit family of two sons, Stuart and Philip (daughters in law Sarah and Karen), five loving grandchildren (Sophie, Lewis, Daniel, Suzie, Jack) plus two great-grandchildren (Charlie, Lilly) – Richard’s loss will be deeply felt by his family and everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Funeral to be held at Newport Crematorium on 23rd September 2025 at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, the family kindly requests donations be made, in Richard’s memory, to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance via Hamilton & Marshall Funeral Directors, Newport.
The family warmly invite you to join them following the service at the Woodmans Arms, 119 Station Road, Wootton, PO33 4RQ.
