Remembering Philip . . .A much-loved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Philip Eddleston passed away unexpectedly while out on his weekly walk with close friends.
Devoted father to Alistair and Nicole, and proud father-in-law to Jonny. Beloved grandfather to Leo, Joshua, Maxwell, Scarlett, and Eva. Cherished brother to Peter and loving uncle to Alex. Philip’s kindness, humour, and warmth touched all who knew him.
A lifelong baker, Philip earnt an honest living running Eddleston’s Bakery with his brother, a cornerstone of the local community built with pride and hard work. Arguably the best bread and pies around! Outside of the bakery, his passion for music shone brightly—he was a talented drummer who played in bands throughout his life, filling many rooms with rhythm and joy, even into his 70th year.
A loyal Blackburn Rovers supporter, Philip also served as a proud club ambassador for Great Harwood Rovers Football Club for over 30 years. His love for the game and commitment to supporting grassroots football has made a lasting impact.
Philip will be remembered not only for his deep love of family, friends, walking, football, quizzing and music but also for his unwavering loyalty, vibrant spirit, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
