The life of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Auntie has sadly come to an end. A pioneering woman who qualified as a doctor in the 1950's when that was a rarity. She was the cornerstone of her wider family, hosting memorable gatherings in the UK and France. Her gifts were always generous and precious and often hand crafted to an exceptionally high standard. Mum forged a career in Public Health rising to Regional Medical Officer and advising the Turkish and Icelandic Governments.
It is difficult to paint an adequate picture or embroider the rich tapestry of her artistic talents even in minature! Even though sight loss robbed her of the craft hobbies she retained a formidible intellect and generous spirit. Although she lived her middle years in the South West and Provence, she remained a proud Lambeth Girl and spent her final years in Harpenden close to her son and his family, where she enjoyed U3A and other activities for many years.
