It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Jane on the 4th of March 2026, aged 62. Margaret Jane Knoth was born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, on the 7th of June 1963, to John and Lois Knoth. She is survived by her husband, Juan Carlos Lopez, and her daughter, Nathalie Jane Lopez.
Jane was strong and resilient, yet her tender nature and gentle soul were always evident, touching the lives of so many. She lived a life full of adventure, spending her early adulthood in London and later in Rome, Italy, where she worked for 12 years for the United Nations. During this time, she embraced her curiosity about culture and languages, becoming fluent in four languages. Her love of travel and culture ultimately led her to meet her husband, Juan Carlos, in Recife, Brazil, and eventually to relocate to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where they raised their daughter, Nathalie.
Jane and Juan Carlos were married at Tonbridge Castle on the 3rd of September 1999. In the final year of her life, Jane returned to the United Kingdom to be closer to her family and her beloved Europe.
Jane will be forever missed, and her memory will continue to be honoured by all who knew and loved her.
