Diana Hartley passed away on 4 May 2025, age 86. Diana lived for many years on Mayflower Close on the Bugle Horn estate in Hartwell. Diana was born in Aylesbury and went to Prebendel School. She married Derek Hartley at Walton Church in 1958 and they moved to Hartwell from Bedgrove in 1996. Diana was very active in the local community in Stone and Hartwell and was a member of many local groups especially ones involved with art, history and literature. She was a primary school teacher at Longwick for over 20 years. She loved her dogs and would often be seen walking them around the village especially down Sedrup Lane and Upper Hartwell. She enjoyed swimming at the spa at Hartwell House and loved travelling especially on art and history trips with friends from the local community. She was a keen artist and creative writer. Most years she would exhibit her work during Bucks Art Week at her great friend Carole Fryers house, Stairways. She leaves two children, Michael and Sarah, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Diana's ashes will be laid to rest with Dereks in Hartwell graveyard. There will be a Celebration of Life service for Diana at Stone Church on Tuesday 20 May at 1pm.
