In Loving Memory of Melissa Galvin
Melissa passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of Tuesday 4th August 2026, aged just 47, after an incredibly courageous 22-month battle with cancer.
When Melissa was first diagnosed, she was told she may have only 3 to 12 months. In true Melissa fashion, she refused to let cancer define her or dictate how she lived her life. She fought with extraordinary strength, courage and determination, giving those who loved her almost 22 precious months filled with laughter, hope and memories that will be treasured forever.
Melissa was the much-loved and devoted wife of Mark, and together with their beloved dog Fox, they were a little family who shared a life filled with love.
She had the biggest heart and was endlessly kind, caring and selfless. Melissa also had a wonderfully wicked sense of humour and an infectious personality that could light up a room. She loved bringing people together, sharing stories and laughter over a glass of bubbly, and had a wonderful ability to make the people around her feel welcome and special.
She was a beautiful person, inside and out, who touched the lives of so many people. She will be deeply missed by Mark, Fox, her family, her many friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
Melissa's funeral will be a celebration of her life and will take place at Worthing Crematorium on Friday 28th August 2026 at 1:00pm.
In keeping with Melissa's personality and the way she lived her life, those attending are asked not to wear black. Please wear something bright and colourful. The brighter, the better.
