It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Derek Seaton, who sadly passed away on Sunday 5th April 2026 at Leicester Royal Infirmary, aged 95 years.
A dearly loved husband, brother, uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle, Derek will be greatly missed by all family and friends.
Before his retirement, he worked for Leicester City Council as a social worker, dedicating his career to helping others.
Derek was well known for his great sportsmanship and as a passionate sports fan. He was a proud author and historian, always eager to share his knowledge. He was always dapper and a true gent to everyone who knew him.
Devoted to his faith, Derek’s memorial service will be held at Christ Church, Clarendon Park, on Monday 11th May at 1.30pm.
Following the service, all are warmly invited to join the family at The Cradock Arms, to continue to share memories of Derek.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made, in memory of Derek, to The Gurkha Welfare Trust. A donation can be made using the button below.
If you are able to attend, the family would appreciate it if you could email Michael Seaton on mj.seaton@outlook.com to confirm your attendance and any dietary requirements.
