It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Stan in Pinderfields Hospital following a short illness.
A beloved husband to the late Barbara Bates and Margaret Bates and much loved Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad and Father-in-Law who will be very sadly missed.
We were very lucky that, at the grand old age of 96, he'd managed to live an independent life in the house in Ackworth that had been his beloved home since August 1953.
Please wear traditional funeral attire to the service, but with a poppy if possible. If anyone would like to make donations in lieu of flowers there will be a collection plate as you exit the service and proceeds will be given to the Royal British Legion, a cause close to Stan's heart.
