We are sad to announce the passing of Davina Wendy Arthur (nee Smith) , known as Wendy, of Wheaton Aston, passed away peacefully on 6th July 2026, aged 85 at Woodfields Care Home.
Wendy was something of an institution in Wheaton Aston, Staffordshire, where she lived for many years. A devoted horse rider and dog lover (with the occasional cat finding its way into her affections too), she was also a lifelong and avid supporter of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.
To family and friends Wendy was never dull, she had a strong spirit and never minced her words — but she was also fiercely kind and loving, and always went into bat for her family. She will be remembered for exactly that combination of spirit and warmth.
She leaves behind her sons Duncan (and his partner Alexandra) and Julian (and his wife Kerry), her much-loved grandchildren Tom, Jack, Lucy, and Emily, and great-grandson Felix.
Funeral service to be held at Bushbury Crematorium, East Chapel, on Friday 24th July at 11.30am. Family flowers only please; instead of flowers please make donations to the PDSA.
