Melvyn 'Mel' Hallworth

Of 5 High Street, Accrington, died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, December 7th, 2023, aged 76. He was the son of the late Charles and Mary Hallworth. Mel was husband to his late wife Eileen Hallworth, Stepfather to Leanne, Billy, Stuart and Rebeka. He was a much loved Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Brother to the late Harrold Hallworth, much loved Uncle to Amelia and many others. Mel worked as a Laboratory technician in his younger years and was a well loved teacher, having previous teaching posts at Norden and Mount Carmel high schools within the Science department until he retired. He adored music and could play many instruments and was a member of pendle Jazzmen. He loved to write and has wrote many poems and short stories in these last few years. He has been an avid Accrington Stanley Football Club fan all his life, attending his first football match in 1954 at 7 years old. He adored Geology, loved to read, enjoyed touring holidays and loved to walk the local country trails in his youth. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and treasured friends.
