Cynthia Ann Black
Peacefully, on 9th August 2026, at Victoria Hospice, Kirkcaldy, aged 73.
Beloved Wife to Gordon, much-loved Mum to Adrian and Gayle, Step Mum to Christopher, Bryan and Joanne, and a loving and very special “Nan” to Chloe, Jamie, Kyle, Amber, Ethan, Isla and Brody.
Cynthia was a wonderful character – warm, funny, generous and always young at heart. She had a great sense of fun, loved spending time with her family and friends, and firmly believed that life was there to be enjoyed.
Whether travelling the world, enjoying a show, sledging with the grandchildren well into her seventies, or making sure everyone was well fed – usually with plenty of cake – Cynthia embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure.
Above all, family was at the heart of Cynthia’s life. She was enormously proud of her husband, children and grandchildren and leaves them with countless happy memories, much laughter and many stories that will continue to be told for years to come.
Cynthia was dearly loved and will be very sadly missed by all her family, friends and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
The funeral service will be held at Dunfermline Crematorium on Monday 24th August at 10.00am, to which all family and friends are warmly invited.
Cynthia wanted her funeral to be a celebration of her life and, in keeping with her love of colour and fun, she wished for everyone attending to wear some colour – whether simply a splash or something a little more colourful. Please come in whatever feels right for you and help us celebrate Cynthia in the spirit she intended.
Donations, if desired, are warmly welcomed in Cynthia’s memory in aid of Crossgates Greenfingers and Cancer Research Scotland.
For those who are unable to attend there will be a live stream which can viewed using the following details Website https://watch.obitus.com Username paho2400 Password 298072
