Fredi Lindegaard passed away suddenly May 10th, 2026.
He was born in Aabenraa, Denmark in May 1957 and was 68 years old.
Fredi lived in Aabenraa until he moved to Copenhagen to take a biology degree at Copenhagen University, and after this he moved to York to take up a research contract at York University, working on DNA sequencing and profiling. This field of work was relatively new at that time, and Fredi enjoyed being a part of it. Later, he and his wife moved to the Midlands, and Fredi continued his career in Birmingham. He enjoyed history and travel in his spare time, and was a member of ARA, ASPROM, The World Ship Society, The Naval Photograph Club, The National Trust and English Heritage.
Of his immediate family he is survived by his wife and mother, and will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him.
