Mr Derek Cahill formerly of Victoria Road, Kirkby in Ashfield passed away in Baily House Care Home, Mansfield on the 12th of August aged 93 years.
A lifelong resident of Kirkby, he worked for British Telecom for 43 years as a planner in the surrounding areas prior to his retirement age 60.
His interests included football and cricket and he played both for local teams as a younger man. He was a very active member of the Hill Methodist Church, being a founder member the church "DIY Group" and loved singing for both the church choir and Kirkby Light Operatic Society. He loved his garden and enjoyed art.
Derek will be deeply missed by his loving family & friends and all the staff at Baily House.
