Mum managed to breeze though to 103 years old. Having been born into the Methodist church in Nelson Lancashire, she moved diocese every five years and finally settled in Leamington Spa, at the end of WW2, after securing a career at Warwick school in 1946. Joining the School she began a career as a Form Teacher in the junior school, where a few years later, Dad joined and they met in the staff rooms with mum admiring dads Footballer thighs !! Married in 1960, Dad moved to the senior school shortly after, we guess to avoid distraction, and mum finally left Warwick School in 1962 when Zoe was born.
A few years later in 1967, Paul joined the family when he was adopted, much to the annoyance of Zoe that Paul was not in fact a girl !!
Mum did continue to teach, hiding her age from everyone until asked to retire from her part time Arts Teachers role at Wroxhall Abbey School for Girls, however until the age of 90, no-one really knew her age and she continued to help at Age Concern, often helping those well below her magnificent age.
In her twilight years she moved into James Hirons Home expecting parties and "knees up" on a nightly basis and was very sprightly and popular with the staff that cared for her.
She will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure to be part of her long and fabulous life and her legacy will continue with Zoe, Paul, Amy, Olivia, Freddie and Skylah and her wider family who miss her dearly. RIP Mum, Nanny, and Great granny from us all x
