Alan Stuart Little – ‘Big Al’ to his friends – passed away in hospital on 13th July 2026, aged 55, following a complex and changeable illness.
Alan was a beloved brother to Derek and Daniel; son to Ann; husband and father; and a pillar of his London Colney community where he had lived for 30 years. He was larger than life and will be dearly missed by all, especially his wife, Charlotte, and daughters, Melissa and Katie.
His funeral will be held at West Herts Crematorium on 3rd August 2026 at 3:30 PM, followed by a celebration of his life at St Alban’s Irish Club. All are welcome. Alan always wanted a joyful send off but also wanted everyone to feel comfortable so funeral attire can be anything from traditional black to Hawaiian shirts and everything in between.
Family flowers only please. However, in accordance with his love of dogs and nature, the family asks that any donations (if desired) be directed to The Woodland Trust https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/support-us/give/donations/ or the National Animal Welfare Trust (see link below). The family will also be collecting to erect a memorial bench in Alan’s name.
All enquiries to Phillips Funeral Services.
