Colin will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

As many will know, Colin suffered from a very rare dementia, Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). This dementia type affects the ability to communicate - first a gentle slurring of speech when tired, then a constant slur, then eventually the words can't be formed. Writing becomes hard and even selecting the right word becomes an impossible task. Eating is also affected, and the longer term solution would have been pureed food. As the man with the gift of the gab and a love of good food, this was an extremely hard road for him to travel.

This is why we have chosen The National Brain Appeal. This charity includes a Rare Dememtia Support section, which supports and researches this specific area. While we are still welcoming flowers for those who would like to, we are also asking for donations to help this charity work towards furthering their understanding of this very strange and cruel disease.
