In loving memory of Elaine Gordon who passed away on the 15th July 2025.
Having spoken to you all over the last week the main words you used to describe mum have been "intelligent, strong and creative". She was all of these things and also an amazing mum and devoted grandmother.
Mum always loved having a full house, where everyone was welcome. At every opportunity she would make sure the decorations matched the event, including us. She would make beautiful dresses for the girls and waistcoats for the boys whenever the chance arose, and would finish the garment by sewing in a tag saying "made with love". This skill has fortunately been passed onto her granddaughter.
In mum's retirement her happiest place was in her chaotic, but very organised study with her grandchildren, listening to her records and being creative with them. There was always something to look at on the packed book shelves, strange things hanging from the ceiling, colour matched cottons and materials and rainbows dancing around through her collection of prisms. She knew exactly where every item came from over her years of travelling the world and had a story behind each object.
Unfortunately mum suffered and fought off four cancers in her lifetime. The support from Macmillan Cancer has always been there through those years. We know that instead of flowers she would prefer for donations to be made to them.
The funeral will be held at:

Family will go to the crematorium, friends can go for a drink at The New Inn in Westfield, and then a wake from 2pm at:
