It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Fr Noel Breslin, a beloved nephew, brother, uncle, and faithful servant of God, who was called to eternal rest on the 15th of September 2025 at the age of 66.
Born on 12th of December 1958 in Casteldoherty, Ardara, Co. Donegal, to the late John Breslin and Annie-maria Breslin, Fr Noel grew up in a loving family where faith was central to life. He is also preceded by his much-missed brother Patsy with whom he shared a lifelong bond.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings Mary, Peggy, Annie, Bernadette, Kathleen, Gearldine, Tony, Sean, Colomba and Michael, his Aunt Maggie-Ellen, his nieces, nephews and extended family, friends, and the many parishioners who considered him part of their own families.
Fr Noel devoted his life to his family, his parishioners, and above all, his Catholic faith. He felt a strong calling to the priesthood, a vocation he embraced wholeheartedly. He was ordained in 1982, beginning a ministry that spanned 43 years and touched countless lives.
Fr Noel was known for his warmth, compassion, wit and unwavering dedication to those in his care. He had a gift for making all who met him feel welcomed, valued, and loved. His sermons were heartfelt, his presence comforting, and his laughter a joy to those blessed to share in it.
To his family, he was not only a priest but a much-loved brother nephew and uncle. He brought the same kindness and wisdom he shared with his parish into the lives of those closest to him. His faith was lived through love, service, and generosity of spirit.
May he rest in peace.
