Meta, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on 16th February 2026. She was 94.
Born in Limerick, Ireland, she grew into a woman known for her warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering generosity. Whether she was offering a listening ear, a home‑cooked meal, or a gentle word at just the right moment, she had a way of making people feel seen and cared for.
She devoted her life to her family, raising them with patience, humour, and a deep sense of compassion. Meta will be remembered by all of the family as a steady presence—someone who celebrated their joys, steadied them through challenges, and taught them, by example, what kindness looks like in everyday life. Meta lived for family and friends and was always looking for the next family party to spend time and have enjoyment with all those who mattered so dearly to her.
Outside her family, she touched many lives through her work as a nurse being tri-trained in general, psychiatric and midwifery, her love of Leamington’s St Patrick Club, and her home in Leamington where she lived for 62 years. She approached everything she did with sincerity and a determination that inspired those around her.
She is survived by Michelle and family, Sean and Liam and family, who will carry her memory forward in the stories they share, the traditions she created, and the love she instilled in them. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Brian.
Her family will gather for a service on Thursday 12th March at 11:00 in St Peter’s church, Leamington to honour her life and the legacy she leaves behind. In place of flowers, the family welcomes donations to British Heart Foundation, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
