It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Ian O'Dowd, beloved father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend, who passed away on 16th December 2024. Born on 26th December 1943, Dave lived a life full of kindness, generosity, and love.
Dave was the devoted husband of Joan O'Dowd, who sadly passed away on September 10, 2022. Together, they shared a beautiful life in Spain since 2006, where they created countless cherished memories. Their love and partnership were an inspiration to all who knew them.
Dave was a loving father to his children, Debbi and Ian, and a dedicated stepfather to Lee, Gina, and Al. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather, adoring his grandchildren Elena, Lydia, Anna, Holly, Josh, Olivia, and Jed. His wisdom, humor, and warmth left an indelible mark on each of their lives.
Dave had a love for classic cars, owning an MGB GT and a Daimler, and he loved "tinkering" with them, which brought him great joy.
He was a kind, intelligent, and funny man with a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humor. A fan of Monty Python, his laughter and charm lit up every room he entered.
Dave’s strength of character, sharp wit, and compassionate nature will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the countless stories of his life well-lived
Rest in peace, Dad. You will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
