It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derek William Ruff, who passed away at home on Monday 17th August in the arms of his family. Cherished husband of Anna, adored Dad of Ben, Emily, Charlotte and Joseph and elder statesman of his beloved Wilden village, he will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends.
Derek's funeral will be taking place on Tuesday 8th September at the Holy Child & St. Joseph Church, Bedford at 10.45am, followed by internment at St. Nicholas Church, Wilden at 12.30pm and a reception at Wilden Village Hall at 1pm. Although not big on parties, Derek loved a sense of occassion, a social gathering and a slice of cake and we invite you to join us to mark his passing and celebrate his life.
The Ruff family thank everyone for their kindness, generosity and messages of condolence. They extend special thanks to Sue Ryder and People’s Choice, whose exceptional care and support enabled Derek to be cared for at home. Donations in Derek’s memory to the Holy Child and St Joseph’s parish fundraiser for St. John’s Hospice, or to Sue Ryder directly, would be much appreciated.
