It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Hull (nee Pomfrey), at the age of 83.
Linda died peacefully at home in Harpenden on 17th September 2025, with her family by her side.
Linda will be much missed by her family and friends; she was a treasured Mum to Tina (late), Alison and Joanna. And a much-loved Aunty to Clive and Julie, who lived with her for the past four years.
Linda adored her Grandchildren Samantha, Abigail, Daniel, Becky and Leah. She was blessed to have been a Great Grandmother, Great Aunty and Great Great Aunty several times over.
Linda was the youngest of a very loving and close family; Dad Ben, Mum Ella, brother Alan and sister Shirley, all of whom have since passed. Linda and her sister Shirley would frequently bring the wider family together, creating many happy and fun memories.
She married Rowland in 1970 who sadly passed in 2003. Together they enjoyed many loving, happy family times, including lots of holidays, with Cornwall becoming a particularly special destination for them.
Linda’s love of holidays and sense of fun were a constant throughout her life. More recently she and her best friend Patricia built some wonderful memories travelling
She was very proud of her career achievements, from supervising a high street fashion store, through to becoming the first female local authority bailiff in the country.
We remember our Mum, Nan, Nanny, Aunty and friend for her fun, wisdom, strength and determination. She touched the lives of many and we will all miss her greatly.
Our chosen Charity is Rennie Grove Peace Hospice. With their unwavering compassionate care and support in the last few weeks, days and hours, Linda’s passing was peaceful, pain free and importantly she remained at home, just as she had wished. We hope that your donations will help other families navigate the painful loss of their loved ones.
Details of a service to celebrate Linda’s life can be found below. All who knew and loved her are welcome to join us in remembrance.
