It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve Turner, who died on 20 April 2025 at the age of 71 after a long battle with cancer. Born and raised in Guildford, Steve was a true local character — known for his humour, warmth, and love of life.

Steve began his working life as a bricklayer, but quickly realised that wasn’t quite for him. He found his calling instead behind the bar, where his quick wit and easy charm made him a favourite among regulars. He worked for many years as a barman, creating friendships and stories that filled countless evenings with laughter.

A passionate Arsenal fan, Steve rarely missed a match — cheering, celebrating, and commiserating in equal measure. He also had a deep love for live music and festivals, never turning down the chance to be part of a good gig or gathering. Steve thrived in social settings and made friends wherever he went, with a pint in hand and a story to tell.

Steve's presence lit up every room, and he will be remembered for his generous spirit, loyalty to his mates, and his unwavering love of life.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
