Mieko Sakamoto Moyle was born on 23 May 1948 in Japan, her childhood home. She passed away on 21 January 2025 in the UK, where she made her home in London. London was a place she built her life upon after a spontaneous trip that reflected her free spirit.
She was independent and adventurous, and she loved to explore new things. She was a lifelong learner who was always interested in the world around her. This naturally shaped her wisdom and open outlook on life. Mieko was a devoted and proud mother who loved her daughter dearly and her family in Japan. Mieko was also an animal lover, adopting stray cats throughout her life and donating to animal and wildlife charities.
Mieko was a compassionate and wonderful person who led a life with strong ethics to be the best she can be, while maintaining a playful sense of humour. Despite facing challenges, she always maintained a positive attitude and a zest for life.
Mieko was a kind and gentle soul who made friends across the world, near and far, many of whom have been lifelong friendships. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and her love of life.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica, her sister, Yaeko, and her brother, Yoji. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

坂本美恵子モイルは、1948年5月23日、幼少時代を過ごした日本で生まれました。2025年1月21日、ロンドンに居を構えた英国で亡くなりました。ロンドンは、彼女の自由な精神を反映した思いつきの旅行の後、彼女が人生を築いた場所です。
彼女は独立心があり、冒険好きで、新しいことを探求するのが大好きでした。彼女は生涯学習者で、常に周囲の世界に興味を持っていました。これが自然に彼女の知恵と人生に対するオープンな見方を形作りました。美恵子は献身的で誇り高い母親で、娘と日本の家族を心から愛していました。美恵子は動物愛好家でもあり、生涯を通じて野良猫を養子に迎え、動物や野生動物の慈善団体に寄付をしていました。
美恵子は思いやりがあり、素晴らしい人で、遊び心のあるユーモアのセンスを持ちながら、できる限り最高の自分になるために強い倫理観を持って人生を送りました。困難に直面しても、彼女は常に前向きな姿勢と人生への情熱を持ち続けました。
ミエコさんは優しくて穏やかな心の持ち主で、世界中に友人を作り、遠くからでも近くまで、その多くは生涯の友人でした。彼女は、人を惹きつける笑顔と人生への愛で人々の記憶に残るでしょう。
残されたのは、娘のジェシカ、妹のヤエコ、弟のヨウジです。彼女を知っていて愛していたすべての人にとって、彼女の死は深い悲しみとなるでしょう。
