In Loving Memory of Ethna Prosol

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ethna Prosol, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, who left us on 22nd April 2025 in Cambridge.
Born in Athlone, Ireland, on 13th November 1942, Ethna carried the heart and soul of her homeland with her when she moved to Cambridge, England in 1963.
Though she built a beautiful life in England, Ireland always remained close to her heart and she frequently visited family there, celebrating her roots with boundless love and pride.
Affectionately nicknamed "The Queen Bee", Ethna was the heart of her family, always in the thick of things, guiding and nurturing with wisdom, strength, and a vibrant spirit.
Though small in stature, she carried the heart of a lion, a boundless energy, and an unwavering moral compass. Her hospitality was unmatched, welcoming everyone with open arms, rooted in her deep Catholic faith and strong belief in kindness.
She is deeply missed by her devoted husband of 49 years, John; her children and their partners, Jackie, Helen, Paul and Louise and Stephen and Charlotte; her grandchildren, Hannah, Emily, Shola and Onóra; and her great-grandchild, Harry.
She will be greatly missed by her brothers and sisters Bill, Peter, Tom, Brendan, Martin, Paul, Theresa, Lily, Pauline and Angela.
Ethna leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held in her honour, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the beautiful life she led. Ethna will be remembered not only for her remarkable achievements but for the love, laughter, and joy she spread throughout her life.
Rest in peace, Ethna. Your song will continue in the hearts of those who loved you xx
