Having lived in Carmarthen for 89 years, Vony moved to Tring, Hertfordshire, in October 2023 after her husband, Elgan, passed away in 2021. She remained exceptionally mobile and independent up to her final few weeks. Sadly, Vony was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on 27th March 2024 and passed away on 22nd May. She had wanted to return to Carmarthen to say goodbye to her friends and family, but her health deteriorated rapidly following her diagnosis.
She was an inspiration to all that knew her and she will be greatly missed by all family and friends.
