Keith Henry Guy 27/05/1944
Peacefully at his home with his beloved wife Deborah and children by his side , Keith passed away 22nd May 2025 80 years of age.
The loved father of Adam and Jane, father-in-law to Lucy and Craig and cherished grandad to Rowan, Finlay and Robyn.
He was a devoted and immensley proud granddad who loved nothing more than hearing about his grandchildren's adventures and acheivements.
Born in Clayton-le-Moors Keith attended All Saints and Mount Pleasant School in Clayton and kept friends with many of his class mates especially Ron and Cynthia to present day.
He began his working career as an electrician in 1960 with an apprenticeship at Accrington Nori , mentored by Ronnie Mills and Paul Pickles being one of his many apprentices. Keith then moved onto United Utilities in 1984 untill retirement.
He embodied a quiet Christian faith and warmth that has stayed with him throughout the years. He was Church Warden at All Saints Church with St Johns for over 20 years.
Keith was a kind, gentle man, loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered always.
Keith enjoyed problem solving and transformed his garage into a fully equipped workshop. He could see potential in what others might call scrap, turning reclaimed electricalitems back to working order.
He was of the make do and mend era meaning nothing went to waste and everything had a new purpose whether you wanted it or not!
Both him and Deborah enyoyed countless caravanning holidays across the UK with friends Bill and Cath , starting off with a VW camper in 1981 then when that became to small as the children came along progressed to a caravan tourer and then when retired moved back to a Motorhome.
Keith had a passion for dancing and always looked forward to being the first to step on the dance floor to showcase his disco moves! Bee Gees being his favourite dance group.
Fridays were especially meaningful for darts and a pint with his friends from church and other close friends. Always up for a laugh and never short of a joke the camaraderie they shared was a constant source of joy.
On his retirement Keith enjoyed Driving with Steve and gang at Whitegate garage collecting cars from Cockermouth and bringing them back to Padiham.
He enjoyed the many hours at Whitegate Garage filling his time after retirement , getting out from under Deborah's feet!
Keith loved cricket and was a passionate player mainly batter for Great Harwoods cricket team in his younger days.
Family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received in Keith's memory on behalf of All Saints Church.
A donation box will be available on the day of the funeral.
