Passed away unexpectedly in the Freeman Hospital on 22nd July 2026 aged 76 years.
Ed, beloved Husband of Christine, much-loved Dad of Graham and Suzanne, loving Brother of Margaret and John and a dear friend to many, especially his running community.
Ed was a member of the All-Runners Club for the Great North Run and the founding member of the Town Moor Bench Runners. He will be fondly remembered and loved always.
Would family and friends please meet for service at West Road Crematorium on Thursday 6th August 2026 at 1:30pm.
Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the British Heart Foundation via a collection at the Crematorium.
The family would like to ask that due to Ed's passion for running, those who share their love of the sport are warmly invited to wear their running kit to the service should they wish.
