Dr. Michael Samaan, a devoted husband, father, physician, and pillar of his community, passed away on November 22, 2023, after a valiant two-year battle with lung cancer.
Born on May 1st 1956, in Sudan, Michael settled in the UK in 1991. His dedication to medicine led him to become a renowned consultant neonatologist, serving as the lead consultant at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath from 2002. His work saved numerous lives and earned him respect and admiration from both parents and hospital staff.
Michael’s love story with his wife Elham spanned decades, a testament to unwavering devotion and faithfulness. Their commitment to each other was a shining example of love and fidelity.
His fervent dedication to the Coptic Orthodox Church was evident as he served as a deacon, finding fulfillment in his role at the altar and as the treasurer for St. John’s church in Bromley. His love for God and the church was deeply felt by everyone he served.
As a father to four sons and a daughter, Michael considered his role as a parent his greatest achievement. He instilled values of education, love, and integrity in his children, serving as a mentor, coach, and constant source of support. His joy was immeasurable when surrounded by his loving family.
Beyond his professional and familial roles, Michael was a guiding force, displaying a tough exterior masking an incredibly loving soul. He stood as the cornerstone of his extended family and community, sought after for advice, support, and wisdom.
Dr. Michael Samaan leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love. His absence will be deeply felt by all whose lives he touched.
