It is with great sadness that the family of Asit Kumar Bose (Khokon) announces his passing on Tuesday 23rd June 2026 at the age of 84.
Khokon passed away surrounded by his family at Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading after experiencing a stroke. He had been living with dementia for a number of years prior to his passing.
Khokon was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India in 1941 and came to the UK in 1967. He was a Refrigeration Engineer by trade, however his longest lasting career was in hospitality, working as the Night Supervisor at the Grim's Dyke Hotel, in Old Reading where he had the great privilege of meeting many icons of stage, screen, music and politics.
The funeral service will be held at Golders Green Crematorium at 12:30pm on Monday 20th July.
This will be followed by drinks and food at Nayla Lounge, 1019 Finchley Road, London NW11 7ES.
