It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Teresa Cesvette, who left this world far too soon but whose legacy of kindness, laughter, and vibrant spirit will endure forever.
Born in Linton, Cambridgeshire, Teresa grew up as a cherished daughter to Moira and Douglas, and a spirited sister to her older brother Steven and younger brother Brynley and Janet, daughter from Douglas’s second marriage. As a child, Teresa's laughter echoed through her home, often earning her gentle reprimands at the dinner table. Her tomboyish charm and mischievous giggles made her the heartbeat of her family, and her fondness for quiet moments on the garden swing or watching the world through windows reflected a soul attuned to the beauty of life.
Teresa attended Longsands Senior School in St. Neots, where she formed lifelong friendships that carried her through her school days with joy. Leaving formal education at 15, she joined the Co-Op, unknowingly setting the stage for her future as a gifted creator and problem-solver. Whether making curtains, dresses, or costumes, Teresa had an uncanny ability to turn imagination into reality—a skill that would bless countless lives in the years to come.
Her love for music found her working in her brother Brynley's record shop, where she sourced rare records and cultivated friendships through shared passions. It was during this time that fate brought her and Colin together on an evening neither had planned to attend. Their connection was instant—marked by shared glances, infectious laughter, and a love for life’s simpler joys. From that first meeting, their love blossomed into an enduring partnership built on devotion, music, and unwavering support.
Teresa was a proud and nurturing mother to her children—Paris, Tianna, Kiara, and Marcus—each of whom she adored with her whole heart. Her creativity extended to her role as a balloon artist and nail technician, where she brought colour and vibrancy to countless celebrations and events. Ever resourceful, Teresa designed stunning costumes for the Step by Step Dance School, a testament to her artistic talent and dedication.
Her warmth and laughter filled every room she entered, whether as "the balloon lady," a caring shoe fitter at Burrs, or "Sweet T," the beloved DJ who charmed listeners with her heartfelt R&B sets on Perception Radio. Teresa's ability to connect with people was unmatched; she found joy in the smallest moments and brought light to those around her.
Her later years saw her adapt to new challenges with grace, from working at B&Q to her final role in HR with Ocado, where she left a lasting impact on her colleagues. Through every chapter of her life, Teresa’s focus remained on her family. She was fiercely protective, endlessly supportive, and profoundly proud of her children and grandson, Correll, who affectionately called her "T-Ma."
Teresa's passing from cancer, just one week after her diagnosis, was a devastating loss for all who loved her. Despite her pain, she faced her final days with courage, laughter, and the unwavering spirit that defined her life.
Teresa’s love, kindness, and effervescent smile will forever be remembered by her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Though she is no longer with us, her light shines on in the countless lives she touched.
Rest in peace, Teresa—you will be deeply missed and always cherished.
