FRANCIS, Gwendoline Joan, passed away peacefully at Dunkirk Memorial House on the 23rd December 2024 aged 82 Years. Fulfilling her final wish, Gwen moved from Northern Ireland toward the end of 2024 to be closer to her family in England, surrounded by her son Gary, his partner Sarah, and her cherished granddaughters, Georgia and Lily for her final weeks.
Gwen was a truly remarkable woman. She served as a Lance Corporal in the Ulster Defence Regiment, exemplifying her strength and dedication. Even in her retirement, Gwen remained full of life, actively participating in clubs and social activities, and touching the lives of many with her enthusiasm and infectious spirit.
She was a loving mother to Paul, Gary, and Wayne, a devoted grandmother to Georgia and Lily, and a cherished aunt, sister, and friend. Gwen’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unbreakable spirit. Her memory will forever be in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Rest in peace, Gwen. Your light will always shine brightly in our hearts.
