After the devastating loss of our beloved Brett on July 24th 2025 we wish to announce the arrangements for his funeral and celebration of his life.

In the weeks following Brett's passing, we have been overwhelmed by the incredible outpouring of love, support and condolences that we have received. Everyone's kind gestures have meant so much to us and is truly reflective of how much Brett meant to so many people. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 

With this in mind, it is clear that there may be a larger number of people wishing to pay their respects and honour his life. Brett's funeral will be open to those who wish to attend but please be mindful that the venue does have a limited capacity with priority seating being reserved for his family. To assist everyone with the arrangements the order of events will be as follows:

Saturday 6th September 2025

The hearse will arrive at Nicholas Everitt's Park, Oulton Broad at 8:15am for a time of quiet reflection and for a final lap of the park. A place that meant so much to Brett. This will give people local to Lowestoft the opportunity to say your farewells locally, should you be unable to attend the ceremony in Ipswich. The hearse will look to depart Oulton Broad by no later than 8:45am for the journey to the Crematorium. Please be aware this moment will be professionally captured on camera for Rhianon, Maddie & Jared, who will not be coming to Oulton Broad. 

The ceremony is scheduled for 11:00am at Seven Hills Crematorium, Nacton. No formal dress code is required, please dress as you feel comfortable, colourful clothing is welcome.

People have already been so very kind and generous and for this we are eternally grateful. We are therefore not collecting charitable donations. Your love, support and presence at the funeral is the greatest offering you can give. If you feel that you want to do something in honour of Brett for the day, then flowers are welcome and should be delivered directly to Gordon Barber Funeral Directors at 10 Oulton Road, Lowestoft NR32 4QP - please arrange delivery the day before on Friday 5th September between 1-4pm, this will ensure any flowers get to travel with Brett in the hearse on his final journey.

Traffic dependent, our intention is for Brett to arrive early circa 10:35-10:40am  to allow his family a few private quiet moments with him in the chapel. We kindly request all mourners remain outside and in the waiting room whilst Rhianon, Maddie & Jared share in this precious moment with Brett. The Funeral Director will then ask Brett's family to join them in the chapel for a few further quiet moments, the Funeral Director will then invite everyone else to come and take their seats when the family are ready. 

Please be mindful seating is limited but the service is also relayed on a TV screen in the waiting room and over the tannoy speakers outside for those standing.

During the ceremony there are memory cards and pens available for you to write. These are a keepsake for the family and used in place of a book of condolence. These are not mandatory to fill in, but if you feel you wish to write down a fond memory or special message for the family, these will be given to them after the ceremony and a box will be provided for you to place them in as you leave. 

At the end of the service, Rhianon and the children wish to remain with Brett in the chapel and be the last people with him. The Funeral Director and Celebrant will indicate when it is time for people to start to take their leave from the chapel. The curtains will remain open giving everyone the opportunity to say a personal goodbye to Brett as they leave. 

Following the service, the flowers will be displayed in the floral courtyard. Brett's main floral tribute will be brought through to the courtyard and anyone wishing to take a single stem from the tribute as a keepsake, is welcome to do so. Any remaining flowers will then be taken back to L.O.B.M.B.C for display where they can continue to be appreciated.

Following the ceremony you are warmly welcomed back to Milsoms Kesgrave Hall in The Hangar, to continue sharing stories and memories of Brett. At 3pm  guests will be required to depart the Hangar and are welcome to stay longer and gather at the front of the house and on the patio where there is plenty of seating available.
