It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of the beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Irene Grace Byne, who passed away peacefully at home on 24th August 2024 aged 78 years , after a courageous and hard-fought battle with Mesothelioma.
Irene, born on 16th June 1946, lived a life filled with happy memories (& a few drinks) with family and friends. Irene married Peter on 2nd April 1966 and were happilly married for 58 years
She is survived by her children, Barb, Chris and Phill, her cherished grandchildren, and many others who were blessed to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, and her presence will forever be missed.
Despite the challenges of her illness over the last few years , Irene faced every moment with grace, determination, and a love for those around her. Her courage in the face of this terrible illness will remain a testament to the woman she was.
In accordance with her wishes, a memorial service will be held for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her name to Havens Hospice, an organization close to her heart.
May she rest in peace, wrapped in love, forever remembered.
Those wishing to attend the funeral are encouraged to wear an alternative colour to black.
