We announce with great sadness the passing of Coral Isabel Born on November 24, 2023, at the age of 84. Born to Dr. Isabel Vallance Born and Stanley Born, Coral was a remarkable woman whose life was as full as it was long.
Educated at Benenden School for Girls and St Andrews University, where she studied law, Coral went on to make significant contributions at the Citizens Advice Bureau in Clacton. Her work there was not just a career but a passion, earning her lifelong friends and respect in the community.
Coral's adventurous spirit led her to sail around the world with a close friend, an extraordinary journey that took her to every continent. Her travels included an extended stay in New Zealand, where she connected with long-lost family members, adding rich chapters to her already vibrant life.
Known for her love of animals, Coral was also an avid enthusiast of the Telegraph crossword. Her early years were spent assisting in her mother's surgery, where she was famously known to offer medical advice at the tender age of six.
Coral's life will be celebrated on January 8th at Wheeley Crematorium at 2 pm. We invite her friends and family to join us in remembering a life well-lived, filled with adventure, service, and love. Join us for light food & drink at The Ship, Kirby le Soken from 3pm.
