Beloved wife of the late James Fuller West. Much loved and caring mother to Peter, David and Fiona. An appreciative and grateful mother in law of Clare. Grandma to Naomi, Nicole, Laura and Lily. Great grandma to Tobias and Elijah. Hilda was always appreciative of family and friends and always willing to help others. Lastly a devoted daughter, sister and granddaughter.
Hilda worked for the Co-Op, in the Insurance Department from the age of 14 and became the youngest Chief Clerk in the country before the age of 21. A role she enjoyed greatly.
She attended night school to learn shorthand and typing, woodwork and tailoring. Which developed her talent for making her own clothing, even her own wedding dress. Had an interest in history and a keen eye for collectibles.
Hilda and Jim raised funds for Diabetic Research over many years and continued to donate to other charities close to her heart
She lived a long and full life and will be sadly missed by us all.
