Miss Veronica Antao, 79, of London, England passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026. Beloved sister, aunt and friend, she will be sadly missed by all.
Veronica was born in Nairobi, Kenya to Jose Floriano and Luiza Maria Antao. She was educated at St. Teresa’s Girls’ School, where she formed lifelong friendships and values of discipline, faith, and service. After graduating, she began working in Nairobi before moving to England in 1972 in search of new opportunities and to build the next chapter of her life.
Throughout her years in England, Veronica held several positions, always known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication. She approached every role with determination and took pride in doing her work well. Due to declining health, she retired in 2000, leaving behind colleagues who respected her and friendships she had built along the way.
Veronica’s Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Boniface Church, where she found strength, comfort, and community. Her faith sustained her through life’s challenges and inspired her kindness, generosity, and resilience. She had a special love for travel, particularly pilgrimages, which allowed her to deepen her spiritual life while exploring new places. Whether traveling abroad or visiting family, she embraced each journey with curiosity and gratitude.
Above all, Veronica treasured time spent with her family. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went, welcoming others with warmth and sincerity. Her conversations were lively, her laughter genuine, and her presence a source of comfort. She valued connection and maintained close ties with relatives and friends across countries, always remembering birthdays, milestones, and special occasions.
Veronica was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Gonzaga; and her sister, Victoria. She is lovingly remembered by her brothers, Sebastian of Hove, England and Thomas of Maryland, as well as her nieces: Sandra, Cheryl, Michelle, Yvonne and Hazel; nephews: Andy and Nick; grand-nephews: Christopher, Tyler, Logan, Kai, Ryo and Niko; and many other family and friends who were blessed to share in her life.
Her legacy of faith, perseverance, friendship, and love will live on in all who knew her.
