Veronica Burns née Attenbury was born in Ashton Upon Mersey in 1935. She went to Loreto Altrincham followed by teacher training in Liverpool to qualify as a primary school teacher. Her teaching career saw her move briefly to Weston Super Mare before schools in inner Manchester, Stretford and finally to St Vincents Roman Catholic School Altrincham before doing home tutoring for children with additional needs. She married Leo Burns (who passed away 2 years ago) at St Roberts Church in Longsight on June 8th 1957 and they were happily married for over 60 years having 4 children, 8 grandchildren and now 9 great grandchildren. Veronica will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
