Mr Lewis Woolf

20th October 1929 - 27th March 2026

Family flowers only please

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of, our father, Lewis (Lew) Woolf on the 27th March 2026 aged 96. Lew was the last of five siblings, Abigail (Betty), Margot, June and Jack and will be greatly missed by his son Ashley, daughter Rachel, his grandson Robert, our mum Angie, nieces and nephews Dawne (deceased) Lesley, Margot, Serena, Bernice, David, Clive and a wonderful large extended family. Together with his friends, we are all deeply saddened by his passing but have so many wonderful memories from a very full and very fun life to remember him by. As an archiect by trade Dad had a keen eye for design and the arts, he loved his pottery, learning Spanish, puzzles, music, being around people and most of all his family. While challenged by failing eyesight in his latter years Dad refused to let this limit him, traveling to New York for his 90th birthday and was regularly seen making the trip to the shops for his newspaper well into his 90s. Living true to his motto "I can because I do, I do because I can." he was fiercely determined to maintain his independence but he did eventually realize he needed more help. As such we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported him in these last few years, especially his niece Lesley and Amanda in Topsham who enabled him to live in his home as long as his did. Also the amazing team at Laurel Deane who made him feel so at home in his new home for the final months. We love you Dad, Ashley & Rachel XX

If you were thinking of sending flowers, we would ask you to please consider donating instead to Estuary League of Friends, a charity that helped and supported Dad to remain living at home during some difficult times. You can use the gofundme page listed here.  Fundraiser by Rachel Woolf : Lewis Woolf
