Mrs Marjory Duguid

19th April 1934 - 28th April 2026

No flowers please

Marjory Isabel Duguid (nee Macaulay)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marjory Duguid, who passed away peacefully on the 28th of April at the age of 92, in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after a short illness. Marjory was dearly beloved wife of the late David, much loved Mum of Alison and Rod, and cherished Grandma to Callum and Hamish, and sister to the late Morven.

Marjory was born and bred in the west end of Glasgow. As a Teacher of Classics, she passionately taught from her first teaching role at Whitehill Secondary, to Knightswood Secondary, before moving to Westbourne School for Girls, and, ultimately, The Glasgow Academy. Marjory had a love for classical music, singing with the Scottish National Orchestra Chorus, and at home playing her cherished Baby Grand Piano. Marjory also loved to travel and particularly enjoyed swimming in the sea wherever she went, making friends easily along the way. She will be sadly missed by so many.

Donations can be made to Glasgow Piano Project CIC, on the day of the service.
