It is with profound grief that we announce the sudden and heartbreaking passing of George Dylan Ivor Alty, aged just 13, on the 29th of June 2025.
George was deeply loved and cherished by his family. A precious son, nephew, grandson and big brother to Nancy and Ted, who adored him completely. The laughter, love, and closeness they shared will always be treasured.
A beloved student at St Peter at Gowts Primary School and The Priory Witham Academy, George was known for his curiosity, respectful nature and genuine passion for learning. He had recently chosen his GCSE options, which reflected his love of history and politics. George taught himself Russian, played piano, read avidly and had a deep interest in the Soviet Union, world history and music. He was also disciplined and driven, exercising daily and planning for his future — including his dream of joining the Royal Navy.
The overwhelming outpouring of love and grief following his sudden passing is a testament to the extraordinary young person George was — full of promise, purpose, and light.
Deeply missed. Forever loved. Never Forgotten.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 23rd July at 10:30am at Lincoln Crematorium. Following the service, there will be a private family burial. We thank you for your understanding.
