Mr Neil William George Doherty
Neil sadly passed away on 29th September 2026, aged 76 years.
He was taken from us too soon and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Emma and Gavin, who will forever cherish his memory, as well as his wider family, friends and former colleagues from the Department of Transport and Highways Agency, where he spent many years of his working life.
Neil showed remarkable courage and strength, maintaining his positive spirit even in the most difficult of times.
Neil is now reunited with his beloved wife, Sandra, who passed away in 2020. She gave him so many wonderful years of happiness, and together they shared an amazing life.
Funeral Service
The Funeral Service will be held at Norse Road Crematorium Chapel, Bedford, on Friday 23rd October 2026 at 2.00pm.
Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, in memory of Neil, may be made to Macmillan Cancer Support using the link provided below.
A Gathering to Celebrate Neil’s Life
The family warmly invite you to join them after the service for a gathering at the Bedford Swan Hotel, a place Neil loved to visit. We will come together to celebrate his life, share fond memories and enjoy some food and refreshments.
