It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Harold, who died peacefully in hospital on 30 March, aged 89 years. Harold will be greatly missed by all his family and friends, and by the many people whose lives he touched over the years. The funeral service will be held at All Souls Church — the church now known by this name, but still the same building so many people fondly associate with Harold and his long-standing presence there.
Following the service, if you are able, the family would love you to join them for Afternoon Tea in the church hall at around 3.00pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available between the end of the church service and 3.00pm. For the last ten years of his life, Harold lived with wet age‑related macular degeneration, bravely enduring over 70 eye injections as his sight gradually deteriorated. In 2024 he was registered as partially sighted and relied on magnifying aids and practical support to maintain his independence. In recognition of this, all donations will go to the RNIB, in grateful appreciation of the support they provide.
